Atonement, by Ian McEwan

Okay, so I hate Keira Knightley, but it was either this copy or a really battered copy that was only a dollar less at the used bookstore. I never wanted to see the movie because of the aforementioned hatred of the star, plus I figured it was really sad and I don't like super sad movies. I didn't know it was based on an Ian McEwan book, but then, I didn't know who Ian McEwan was until less than two months ago. And now he's my new favourite.

This book was addictive. I couldn't put it down.  I can't say what I really want to say about it because it would be a spoiler. It's about World War 2 and a thwarted romance, but that's not the half of it. You'll just have to read it. Ian McEwan, for reals y'all.
