I really enjoy Mary Roach. She writes amusingly about science topics you never studied in school, such as what happens to corpses (
Stiff), paranormal studies (
Spook), and sex (
Bonk). These are more than layman's terms, and they're damn funny.
Packing for Mars follows the same vein. It's about space travel, which is not all glamourous moon landings. A lot of consideration has to go into things like using the toilet in space. This book covers all that stuff. It's funny, honest and a little gross at times.

I've been curious about her books, but never read any. I will add her to my list of authors to read. If you had to pick one, which one was your favourite?
That's a toughy...I would happily re-read her 3 earlier books, but if I had to choose, I guess either Stiff or Spook?
